SnapVee Credits Explained: Download Points and AI Credits
Understand SnapVee trial allowance, Pro monthly allowances, download point costs, minute-based credit spend, AI credits, add-on packs, and failed-task refunds.
SnapVee shows two balances in the product: download points and AI credits. The important rule is simple: downloads spend download points, while summaries, subtitles, AI generation, and supported advanced AI tasks spend credits.

Trial allowance for new accounts
New free users receive 60 AI credits and 5 download points, valid for 7 days. The download points cover 5 audio/720p downloads, 2 1080p/2K downloads, or 1 4K download. The AI credits are designed for light testing across subtitle or summary tasks, AI image workflows, and desktop watermark-removal flows under the current rules.
Use the trial to confirm your workflow before running a large batch. If your work depends on long media files, high-resolution downloads, or repeated AI generation, check the Pro plan and add-on packs first.
Download points by quality
Download points depend on the selected quality:

Choose quality based on the actual use case. A 1080p file is often enough for interviews, courses, and presentations. Use 4K when the extra visual detail matters and the public source actually provides a 4K stream.

Minute-based credit spend for summaries and subtitles
Subtitle Transcription and Video Summary are calculated from the source duration, then charged as credit spend:
- Subtitle Transcription is for timestamped text, subtitle translation, bilingual review, editing, and subtitle export.
- Video Summary is for structured notes, chapters, keywords, action items, follow-up AI chat, and mindmaps.

AI credits
AI credits are also used for AI creation workflows such as image generation, video generation, and supported advanced models. The UI shows this as the same credit balance used by summary and subtitle tasks.

Monthly refreshes and add-on packs
Pro monthly allowances refresh each subscription cycle and do not roll over. Add-on allowances are different: purchased add-on capacity stays available for later use.
This distinction matters for planning:
- Use monthly Pro allowance for recurring work.
- Add a pack when a campaign or batch temporarily exceeds the monthly allowance.
- Avoid buying extra capacity only to cover work that can wait until the next monthly refresh.
What happens when a task fails?
Failed eligible tasks are refunded where possible. If a balance does not look correct after a failed task, check the account usage history and contact support with the task details.
Three planning examples
Downloading public training videos
If visual detail is not critical, use 720p or 1080p rather than defaulting to 4K. That keeps download-point usage aligned with the real deliverable.
Processing a long course
Start with Video Summary if the goal is review and note-taking. Use Subtitle Transcription when you need timestamped captions or a translated text asset.
Creating social assets
Keep AI generation separate from download planning. Image and video creation consume AI credits, and summary and subtitle tasks also consume credits based on media duration.
